Arise Up
Envisioning community-wide opportunities
Poverty remains a persistent challenge for many communities. However, it is through the resilience, determination, and hope of the people that a brighter future can be envisioned. We believe in the power of sustainable solutions that help individuals create their own opportunities according to their visions and passions. We work towards reducing poverty by providing training, financing upskilling projects, and promoting enterprise development of the local communities and marginalized populations.
Activities in the ARISE UP program include
- Designing gender-sensitive projects to achieve workforce equitability, particularly in the industrial sector.
- Setting up vocational training centers to accelerate skill acquisitions in sensitive professional fields.
- Providing financing for social enterprises through grants and loans.
- Developing and catalyzing revenue-generating activities for local communities according to their interests and the resources available.
- Setting up venture capital for promising innovative startups.
- Developing pathways to integrate the local communities as part of the workforce in the industrial platforms.
- Connecting professionals to career-development programs.
Our Projects
Project name:
ARISE Foundation X Eisenhower Fellowship
Description:
ARISE Foundation has started a long-lasting partnership with the Eisenhower Fellowship focusing on skill exchange between professionals in Africa and the USA. Every year, the Global Fellowship program brings to the United States mid-career leaders (at least 31 years old) from as many countries for four-to-five weeks of intensive professional exploration, interaction, and exchange.
As part of the partnership with ARISE Foundation, a young leader from Africa will be selected by the Eisenhower Fellowship to be part of the Africa batch of the Global Fellowship program. The selected fellow will come up with a project tackling climate change and will have the opportunity to meet and interact with fellows and business leaders stemming from various sectors and various countries to inform their project.
By the end of the program, the fellow will be equipped with all the leadership skills necessary to implement a high-quality climate initiative that will positively impact communities in Africa.
